Maria Sorensen

Maria Sorensen, MA, LAADC, SAP, is an integrative psychotherapist and co-founder of Healing Arts, LLC. She holds a master’s degree in Holistic Counseling from Salve Regina University, integrating a body-mind-spirit approach in her work. She is licensed in RI as a Substance Abuse Therapist.

Specializing in trauma and addiction, Maria is certified in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and clinical hypnotherapy. As a Reiki Master trained in the Usui system, she blends energy work with psychotherapy. She offers individual and group therapy, workshops, retreats and she has participated on numerous conference committees.

Maria tailors her approach to each client, incorporating holistic self-care, expressive arts, mindfulness, spirituality, and talk therapy. Committed to her own healing journey since 1976, she integrates 12-step principles, Eastern and Western philosophy, and Shamanic principles into her work. Presently, she offers counseling services in the Rhode Island and Costa Rica.
